The ProBuild senior team is composed of experienced industry leaders from many of our regional division companies. Each person is committed to the vision of ProBuild as an innovative industry leader.


Bill Myrick - Chief Executive Officer

Bill joined ProBuild in 2007 after spending over 25 years in many industry leadership roles and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of ProBuild in June 2008. Prior to his role as chief operating officer, he served as president of our strategic initiatives group. Previously, Myrick served as chief operating officer for Pennsylvania-based 84 Lumber from 1998 to 2007.

Jim Cavanaugh – Executive Vice President Operations/Region President – ProBuild South Central

With over 30 years of experience across the value chain, Jim Cavanaugh has successfully built his career growing businesses and people.

Jim joined ProBuild in 2006 when Hope Lumber was acquired by the Lanoga Corporation and has been serving as South Central Region President. His 20 year tenure with Hope Lumber yielded tremendous growth – expanding the business from a single yard to over 50 full service facilities. Prior to joining Hope Lumber, he also held positions with Georgia Pacific and Boise Cascade.

Thomas W. Ryan - Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining ProBuild in 2007, Tom served as vice chairman of Allied Waste Industries, the second largest waste removal company in the United States. While at Allied, he also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Before his tenure at Allied, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Federal Mogul Corporation. In all, Tom brings over 35 years of financial experience to ProBuild. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University.


Michael Seay – Chief Information Officer

Michael Seay joined ProBuild in January, 2007 as the company’s Chief Information Officer.  In this position, he is responsible for computer operations, communications networks, technology architectures, application development and application support.  Michael came to ProBuild from Fidelity Investments where he built a successful 20 year career in IT.  He served in several capacities within the Fidelity companies including CIO, President and Executive Vice President of Development in both domestic and global markets.  Michael also spent 15 years with IBM as a marketing manager, development manager and systems engineer.     

Michael received a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.    


Joseph Todd - President - Market Development/President Gypsum

Joe leads ProBuild’s market development efforts, heading up national accounts as well as overseeing ProBuild’s gypsum operation. Joe has two decades of experience in the building material and home building industry. Prior to assuming his current ProBuild position, he was the executive vice president of the Strober-Haddonfield Group.

Joe had held numerous management positions at Haddonfield Lumber Company before becoming a partner in 1994. When Haddonfield Lumber Company became part of the Strober Organization, Joe co-managed the newly formed Strober-Haddonfield Group until his move to Strober headquarters. Joe also formed and was the principal of Total Computer Services, a computer business that specialized in products and services for the homebuilding industry.

Joe serves a dual role for ProBuild as President, Market Development and President of our Northeast region.


Russ Kathrein – President – ProBuild Northeast

Russ Kathrein has worked at ProBuild since 2007 as Senior Vice President of Operations for the South Central region headquartered in Tulsa, OK.

Kathrein has also held senior management positions at other companies in the industry including BMC West, Star Building Systems and 84 Lumber Company.


Bryan Reckrodt - President - ProBuild Southeast

Bryan Reckrodt has been with ProBuild and our legacy companies for 17 years, during which time he has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility.  Bryan started in sales management, was promoted to location management and eventually became the AVP of two different markets.  Most recently, he was the SVP of Operations for the South Central Region.


Joe Lawrence - President - ProBuild Southwest

Joe is a seasoned industry veteran with 25 years experience in building materials and operations. As ProBuild’s Southwest Region President, Joe is responsible for the overall growth, operations, and profitability of our western operations.

Joe began his career as an entry level lumber handler and held numerous positions in retail operations from truck driver, yard foreman, and branch manager to director of operations and general manager.


Ed Waite - President – ProBuild Northwest

Northwest Region President Ed Waite is a 26-year building material veteran.  He was named to the position after serving 8 years as President of Spenard Builders Supply. Ed has also served as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of both Spenard Builders Supply and Lacey, Washington-based Lumbermen's Building Centers. 


Doug Ossefoort - President - ProBuild Midwest

Recently named President of our Midwest region, Doug Ossefoort has built a long and successful career in building materials.

Doug joined legacy UBC in 1992 and has served in various management and executive roles for the company including center manager, district manager, area manager and Vice President. Prior to his role as Region President, he served as VP of Supply Chain.


Paul Dodge - Senior Vice President - Supply Chain

Paul joined ProBuild in 2008 from Centex Homes, one of the nation’s largest home builders, where he served in a variety of positions including senior vice president of purchasing and supply management. Before joining Centex, he worked in the wholesale and retail sector, including division vice president of merchandising at Builder’s Square, director of national accounts for Weyerhaeuser Building Materials, and president of Builder Marts of America.

Paul earned his bachelor of science degree in forestry utilization from the University of Maine and an MBA from Clemson University. He also graduated from the Executive Program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Lonnie Bernardoni - Senior Vice President - Manufacturing

Lonnie has a wealth of experience in manufacturing. Before joining ProBuild, Lonnie served as corporate vice president of new product introduction for Motorola. During his 18-year tenure with Motorola, he also served as vice president of supply chain, manufacturing operations manager, plant manager and manufacturer process engineer in both domestic and international Motorola facilities. He received his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana.

John Spenard - Senior Vice President – Human Resources

John is responsible for leading the Human Resource function for ProBuild. Before joining ProBuild in 2009, John was Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations for CEMEX Corporation in Houston, TX. Prior to CEMEX, John has held senior human resource and labor relations roles at Exelon Corporation in Chicago, and National Grid USA Corporation in Syracuse NY.

John received his Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Lemoyne College in Syracuse NY, and received his MBA from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.


Michael Mahre – Senior Vice President – Corporate Development

Mahre came to ProBuild after serving as CEO of Select Build, the construction services arm of Building Materials Holding Corporation, now BMC-Select. Prior to BMC-Select, Mahre was in the investment banking, private equity and real estate finance industries.

A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Mahre spent seven years serving as a submarine officer and nuclear engineer. He also is a graduate of Stanford’s business school where he received an MBA.

Lisa Peterson - Vice President – Marketing and Communications

Lisa is responsible for leading the brand development and awareness of ProBuild’s business as well as all Company internal and external communication functions. Lisa also heads up ProBuild’s sustainability efforts with its ProEarth initiatives and is leading the Company’s expanding presence in the commercial construction industry.

Most recently, Peterson served as a director of marketing and product portfolio management for Johns Manville, a Denver-based manufacturer of insulation and commercial and industrial roofing systems. Before joining Johns Manville, she was with McKinsey & Company, a premier management consulting firm.

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Peterson holds a B.S in Finance, Marketing and International Business. She also earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
